Movie Review: John Wick Chapter 2 (2017)

Hello All,

Today we end the trilogy of Ruby Rose’s 2017 films. No seriously, that’s really the connection between the three of these it’s actually super weird. If you don’t know who she is BAM! Wikipedia page. On a serious note though, this is the other of the two sequels that came out this week….I think….can’t remember. Anyways, It’s another I’ve been looking forward to, so let’s get to it shall we?

Plot Summary - Picking up a few weeks after the events of the first film, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) finds himself being called back in to pay return a favour, only to find himself as a target as a result.

Pros - Reeves is fully present here, as the cool and in control Wick, and he just kills it yet again. The action scenes are awesome, as the make the most of every scenario he’s in. The supporting cast is expanded and the we have returning favorites, and cool new characters. The story works well because while it does expand more on the world Wick lives and works in, it still keeps the story simple enough so that the action scenes can do their thing well.

Cons - I’ll admit, the ending is both kind of cool, but anti climactic a touch. It does sequel bait, but honestly if you’re calling a film Chapter 2 you know they’re going to make more.

Final Score - 10/10

And I for one hope they do. John Wick Chapter 2 is everything I wanted in a sequel and more. I really hope they do a third one as good as the other two.

Next: I’m aiming to either see Space Between Us or get a suggestion box review going. Still not sure if there’s something I’m missing though.
