Hello All,
Yeah, Arrival didn’t have a early showing at my regular theatre so I saw the Almost Christmas movie instead. This is what I’m doing today, just roll with it yeah?
Plot Summary - Walter Meyers (Donald Glover) is gathering his family together for their first Christmas since his wife passed away earlier that year. What follows is hijinks and drama, as the family reunites and every problem arises.
Pros & Cons - This is hard to explain, but basically everything about the movie is adequate. Nothing stands out above the average type of these kind of family Christmas films. There’s funny scenes, there’s dramatic scenes, all the plots tie up nicely, and everyone leaves happy. It’s a film that’s meant to make you feel better, but not to challenge you.
Final Score - 5/10
It’s the definition of an average Christmas film. That’s all you need to know. Yes I know this review is short, but do you know why? I’m reviewing a Christmas movie in November, even I’m annoyed about that fact.
Next - Arrival (Hopefully), if not then we’ll try for Moonlight instead.
