Hello All,
So I really don’t have an intro for this one, I’d rather just get to the review. Basically, I can’t remember if I said I was going to review this film or not, I had some free time and a free ticket today, so I went and saw it. How was it? Let’s find out together shall we?
Plot Summary - Texas brothers Toby (Chris Pine) and Tanner Howard (Ben Foster) begin a scheme to start robbing banks, which draws the attention of Texas Ranger Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and leads him down the trail of the brothers scheme of what is ultimately revenge.
Pros - Honestly, I really like everything about this film. It’s basically a modern day western, and it’s so well acted and awesomely shot and stylized. The cast is great, the characters are interesting and complex, and the film is just great commentary on how small town life can get destroyed so easily by big banks and bad intentions.
Cons - If I had a complaint, is that some of the dialogue early on can be a bit quiet, so you’re really going to have to make an effort to hear what they’re saying.
Final Score - 10/10
Truthfully, this will probably end up on the year end best list. If you can, I’d say seek it out and watch it asap.
Next - The Girl on the Train
I’m actually really looking forward to this one, let’s hope it’ll be good.
